Check Out Library Books Using Your Phone
OverDrive, a digital book distributor for libraries and schools, has released apps for the iPhone and Android phones, so that readers can download library books directly to their phones.
The OverDrive network includes more than 13,000 public libraries, schools, colleges, and universities in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and nine other countries. The free apps include a “Get Books” feature helps a user access their local library’s digital catalog to check out books and download them to their device.
The above video gives a demo of how the new apps work. To see it in person, OverDrive will be at CES in Las Vegas this week, and at the American Library Association’s Midwinter Conference in San Diego.
