Drugstore chain CVS has updated its Pharmacy app to make it easier for users to make prints of photos using their phones.
The Version 1.9 update, which went into effect earlier this month, lets users order prints from their camera’s phone for same day pick up for free. This includes 4×6, 5×7 and 8×10 prints. So essentially you can take a photo with your phone, upload it to the CVS app and go and pick up a print of that photo later that day.
To promote the new version, CVS is offering a sale on prints. App users can get 50 photos for $5.00 with an in-store pick up. The promo is running through August 31st.
Beyond photos, the app also lets users fill prescriptions, scan QR codes to get coupons while shopping in the store, and it includes a mobile ExtraCare loyalty card, so that shoppers can get points for purchases.
According to data from AppData, the CVS Pharmacy app is currently the No. 282 app in the Top Free iOS Apps and is the No. 13 app in the Top Free Apps Lifestyle Genre.
