We still don’t know yet of the Nexus 7 will blend, but thanks to the warranty folks at SquareTrade I can tell you that it’s sturdier than the new iPad.

SquareTrade drop the Nexus 7 from waist height and they also shoved it off the edge of a bench. In both cases the Nexus 7 survived with minimal scuffing, while the iPad had serious screen damage. I must say that I’m surprised. Given how heavily engineered the iPad is, I would have expected it to do much better.

What’s even more surprising is that both tablets survived the bathtub test. The iPad did lose the speakers, but both devices did keep working.
