E-ink Expects to Ship 50% More Screens in Second Half of 2011
Here’s one company that’s not worried about the recession.
Scott Liu, CEO of E-ink Holdings, spoke at an investors conference on July 28. heĀ told the assembled stockholders thatĀ E-ink was seeing an increased demand for the EPD screens used in many eReaders. He also said that E-ink expected to ship more screens in the latter half of this year, with the total hitting around 25-30 million by the end of December.
Mr. Liu expect screen shipments to increase every month from July to October, and the company will begin shipments of new FFS panels in August or September. These new panels will be made in partnership with the screen manufacturer Chunghwa Picture Tubes, who has just received a capital investment of $50 million from E-ink Holdings.
