Ectaco Wins Award for the jetBook Color

Earlier this week the Consumer Electronics Association announced its 2012 Innovation Award. This year’s winners include Ectaco, who made the list with its 9.7″ eReader, the jetBook Color.

The jetBook Color, which is due to be released in the US in December, uses E-ink’s latest generation color epaper screen. It has a Wacom touchscreen, Wifi, SD card sot, and 2GB Flash storage.

Ectaco designed the Jetbook Color to be the only device a student will need. It comes with a schedule guide, a test-taking app, training manuals for each grade, graphic, accounting, and scientific calculators, and a pronunciation dictionary.It also has an illustrated dictionaries for 36 languages and a translator for 180 languages. As you can see, it won the award because it offers students and teachers the ability to save money on books while providing unlimited teaching resources.

The jetbook Color will be display at CES 2012 in January in the Ectaco booth (#36180).
