The social news aggregator Flipboard has just brought the beta test for its Android app to a close in a remarkable amount of time. This app was only launched in the last couple days of May and is now available in Google Play.

After months of anticipation, Flipboard has officially launched on Android and will soon be available on many devices including the Nook Tablet from B&N and Amazon’s Kindle Fire.

“People are amazed by all the things they can see on Flipboard, and often the most personal and interesting stories come from friends,” said Mike McCue, CEO of Flipboard. “Today we have over 2000 featured content partners from around the world and, now with the addition of Google+ and YouTube, we have all of the popular social networks for our readers to sit back and enjoy.”

Demand for the app has been amazing, TechCrunch reports, and there’s been extensive feedback offered by the early adopters. This app saw over a half a million downloads during the beta.
