Google eBookstore Prices Vary By Seller

Indie booksellers using the new Google eBookstore appear to be able to set their own prices.

Stieg Larsson’s popular title The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest is available for $27.95 from Octavia Books and from Word Brooklyn, through their newly launched Google eBookstore storefronts. Indie bookstore Alibris is selling the eBook for $18.17.

Google itself has the most competitive price, selling the book directly for $9.99, the same price the eBook title is listed for in Amazon’s Kindle Store. Will Google hurt indies by competing with Amazon’s extremely low prices?
