Google redesigned its app store Google Play with a new look and feel this week. The new layout is designed to “make it easier to browse and discover new favorites,” says Google’s welcome message to the new page.
The new design brings recommendations to the front of the homepage, listing suggestions from four different categories including apps, books, music and films. On the left hand side of the screen, you can still see categories to browse through — apps, movies & TV, music, books, magazines and devices. Scrolling down the homepage Google has sections for music, books, games, movies, TV shows, with top deals and recommendations included within the section.
The redesign also revealed hints at an app store for Google Glass. CNET has more:
Early this morning, an Android user, Nicolas Gramlich, posted a screenshot to his Google+ page showing that one of the titles available in the marketplace includes support forGoogle Glass. That screenshot came just a few hours after the Android and Me site posted a screenshot showing that Google Glass is included as a supported device for Google Play applications. Upon choosing Google Glass in the dropdown, however, users find that it cannot be chosen because they ‘have not opened the Google Play Store app recently on this device.’
