How To Responsibly Throw Away Your eReader & Tablet In NYC

Don’t let anybody tell you that eReaders are a new trend. As if readers of this blog didn’t know that eReaders have been alive and well for a long time, we now have proof. New York City already thinks these devices are worth throwing away.

Along with cell phones, computers, printers, DVD players, scanners, TVs and mp3 players, the city is accepting eReaders and tablets at itsĀ Spring 2012 NYC SAFE Disposal Events, where city residents can safely recycle used electronics among other things. (The Manhattan event will take place in Union Square on Sunday April 22, 10-4 pm).

According to NYC’s brochure, “Electronics will be responsibly recycled or refurbished for reuse through a manufacture-funded program.”
