James Patterson Sells One Million Kindle eBooks

James Patterson has become the second author to sell more than a million Kindle books. Amazon is reporting that as of yesterday, James Patterson has sold 1,005,803 Kindle books.

Back in June, The Hachette Book Group said that Patterson had sold 1.14 million eBooks across retailers.

To celebrate his achievement, Amazon has named the “Kindle Million Club,” authors whose books have sold over 1 million copies in the Kindle Store. Stieg Larsson, author of the Millennium Trilogy, was the first author to hit the 1 million mark.

This is one of the few times that Amazon has given any hard numbers on how many eBooks they have sold. Perhaps all of the excitement over at Barnes & Noble will encourage Amazon to share more.
