Leaked iPhone 5 Photos Pulled From the Web

We’ve seen leak after leak after leak of the new iPhone 5, including parts of the shell, schematics, and more. But today I’ve come across something new.

Yesterday a gadget blog called KitGuru posted a set of leaked photos of what could be the iPhone 5.  I’d like to link to their post and talk about it, but I can’t; they took the pictures down. As they said in their explanation today:

Yesterday we ran a story featuring multiple images highlighting key design elements of Apple’s iPhone 5 which is due for official release later this year. Due to external pressures, which we are unable to detail publicly we felt it necessary to remove this story and all related images.

That’s not something you see very often, isn’t it? It almost makes you wonder if the pictures were real. I don’t know, but I can tell you that the only times I’ve ever been asked to remove a post it was because my post contained photos or text that a company didn’t want released. The request for a removal was a confirmation that the post was true.

And that’s why I tend to believe these photos are the real deal. Luckily they’ve been posted elsewhere, so I can still post them.
