Microsoft To Release Windows 7 Phone

Microsoft is ready to announce its new Windows 7 phone next week. Along with AT&T, the technology company has sent out invitations to a launch event for Windows 7, which will take place on Monday October 11th in New York.

Microsoft has not yet said when the new phones will go on sale, but we might expect the October announcement will mean that the phones will go on sale for the holiday season. Digital Trends predicts November: “Industry speculation at this point still has Windows Phone 7 devices going on sale in Europe in late October, and landing in the United States in November.”

We can expect that when the phone does launch, the big eBook players will launch eReader platforms for the phone. When RIM announced its PlayBook last week, Kobo, Amazon and Wattpad all said that they will have eReading apps for the new tablet.
