New JFK App Merges Text With Old Newsreels
NBC News, The Perseus Books Group and Vook have a new iPad app about the life of John F. Kennedy called JFK: 50 Days.
The app was created as a companion to the print book, JFK: Day by Day by historians Terry Golway and Les Krantz which was published by Running Press, a member of The Perseus Books Group. It was timed for release just in time with the 50th anniversary of JFK’s winning presidential election.
It combines narrative text with archival newsreels and images from the NBC News Archive. The footage includes JFK’s speeches, press conferences and Kennedy family movies. The app also features a video introduction by Meet the Press moderatorDavid Gregory.
