New Kindle Clipping Service Launched – ClipDO

I got an email this morning that announced the launch of a new service by the name of clipDO. The formal launch isn’t until tomorrow, but the site is up and running now so there’s no reason to wait.

ClipDO is jumping in to the highly competitive “web to eReader” niche (that’s my name for it). Right now clipDO is focused on helping readers save news articles and blog posts so they can be read later on the Kindle.

The process is quite simple, and it functions pretty much the same as ClipDO‘s competitors (Instapaper, ReadItLater, etc). After users set up an account, they will be given a customized bookmarklet. Whenever they are looking at a page that that they want to save for later, the users can click on the bookmarklet and clipDO will automatically retrieve the content, convert it to Kindle format, and email it to the user’s Kindle.

The service is free for users, and it is subsidized by ads.
