Nook Touch (Briefly) Available in France
In a surprise, spontaneous, and wholly unauthorized move, the French web retailer Qoqa imported a number of the new Barnes & Noble Nook Touch this week. The limited stock quickly sold out, and there’s no word on when more will arrive.
Qoqa were selling the Nook Touch for 149 euros, which is not a bad price. The shipping cost, import duties, and VAT would consume a significant percentage of the difference.
This is definitely not a sale I would recommend. B&N does not sell its e-readers outside the US, so if there is a problem it has no obligation to service your e-reader. Even if it does, you will need to pay shipping each way, and that could cost $70 or more.
