Sometimes the lines are blurred between what is an eBook and what is an app, as both can include good copy alongside interactive or multimedia elements.

Open Air Publishing is experimenting with the format and has decided to release an eBook edition of one of their popular apps. The creators of popular how-to apps for iOS devices have released their first eBook guide called Master Your DSLR Camera: A Better Way to Learn Digital Photography. Like the app, the eBook release includes video tutorials, slideshows and guided tours. It is available through the major eBook retailers.

The company worked with digital publishing company Vook to format the app into an eBook and make it easy to read across all devices. The eBook costs $11.99, while the iOS app version is currently on sale for $4.99 (it’s usually $9.99).
