OverDrive Integrates Project Gutenberg Content In Libraries

OverDrive, a digital library content provider, has partnered with Project Gutenberg to integrate content from Project Gutenberg to libraries that use the OverDrive platform.
The Boston Public Library is the first library to take advantage of this. On Friday, Boston’s library added more than 15,000 public domain eBooks from Project Gutenberg to its ‘Virtual Branch’ website. You can test drive the digital library here.
OverDrive is working on getting this collection out to more libraries. From the OverDrive blog: “Project Gutenberg collections are currently being rolled out to library partners in the US and UK with eBooks. As we investigate the finer points of international copyright law, we’ll expand availability to libraries in additional international territories.”
