Photopon Lets Users Create Personal Coupons with Mobile Photos

photopon appIf you think sharing your everyday food photos is not enough, perhaps you should consider turning it into a coupon with this Photopon App. It’s a fun way to send small savings to friends and families while giving them a bit of a personal touch.

The app uses your location to find deals and discounts from participating retailers. To share the discounts, take a photo using your smartphone, insert your own personal captions, and share via Facebook, Twittter, or email.  One problem with the location-only model is that you can only share coupons when you are near an establishment, presumably so you can take a relevant photo.

One incentive worth noting: when friends redeem your coupons you can get rewards. Photopon is reporting that a lot of users like happy hour specials, not entrées, so if you’re looking to get a lot of rewards, share some cocktails.
