Let there be Pins! Pinterest just acquired VisualGraph, a natural partnership intended to improve image discovery on the social photo site, Pinterest. Since exploring mobile ads, Pinterest has been using image matching technology to pair ads and images in a seamless experience for users – something that may be crucial to the site’s long term ad-focused monetization strategy.
To imrpove their content, the company can now use newly acquired VisualGraph’s image search capabilities, something that founder, Kevin Jing and David Lieu have worked on with Google, prior to creating his own startup.
