Publisher Simon & Schuster has a new Facebook app called Book Battle. Using the app, fans can vote on their favorite book preferences in a series of literary “match-ups.”

The match-ups pit two literary topics against each other in a slideshow format and you can vote on which you prefer: Chick lit or horror books, Stephen King‘s Under The Dome or Duma Key.

The inaugural match-up is Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments versus the author’s Infernal Devices series. Fans can vote for their favorite book, favorite character and answer which character they would most like to take to the prom.
