T.S. Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land’ Released As App
T.S. Eliot‘s epic poem The Waste Land has been released as an app in iTunes, and has debuted as a Top Grossing App. The app, which launched today, is currently No. 8 on the Top Grossing apps list.
Faber and Faber and Touch Press teamed up to bring to life the classic work in a contemporary way. A filmed performance of the entire poem read by Fiona Shaw, as well as audio recordings of T. S. Eliot reading the poem at two different times in his life.
Additionally, the app includes actors Ted Hughes, Alec Guinness and Viggo Mortensen reading the poem, as well as videos from poetry experts discussing the meaning of the work. It also includes original manuscript pages with Ezra Pound’s edits.
The app is $13.99.
