New device activations increased 332% on Christmas Day as compared to the average number of activations on any other day in December. According to new figures from Flurry Analytics, any given day from December 1-20 there were 4 million new devices activated, but Christmas Day device activations reached 17.4 million.
Flurry also found that app downloads spiked 115 percent on Christmas Day, as compared to any other day December 1-20. Beginning early in the day and lasting into the night, downloads averaged about 20 million per hour.
