Ever since Amazon officially launched its Kindles Singles storefront, content has slowly been populating the store. To be a “Kindle Single,” an eBook should be shorter than a regular Kindle book and have a low price. These books are categorized as between 10,000 and 30,000 words –or about 30-90 pages and are priced between $.99 and $4.99.

Clarkson Potter And Ten Speed Press Release 81 eCookbooks

Clarkson Potter and Ten Speed Press, imprints of the Crown Publishing Group, have released 88 full-color eCookbooks.

The lineup includes recently published and classic backlist cookbooks from authors including: Mark Bittman, David Chang, Giada De Laurentiis, Bobby Flay, David Lebovitz, Rajat Parr, Rachael Ray, Peter Reinhart, Martha Stewart, Ethan Stowell and Alice Waters.

Each digital cookbook has been designed for a full-color eReading experience, and has been optimized for eReaders such as the iPad or Nook Color. But Kindle owners don’t need to fret, the images from the cookbooks will also appear on black-and-white eReaders.

The digital editions of these cookbooks will now be available in the United States and Canada wherever Random House e-books are sold.

Barnes & Noble Announces “More in Store” September Lineup

Barnes & Noble has released the September line-up for its “More in Store” program for Nook. This month Nook owners have exclusive access to new work from Lee Child, Mark Bittman and Project Runway’s Tim Gunn.

On September 5, B&N has the exclusive eBook release for Roasted Sweet Potato and Parsnip Soup with Sausage by New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman. The cookbook is written for readers who want to cook accessible and simple dishes.

On September 12th, B&N will release The Cliffhanger by thriller author Lee Child. For the first time, he’s releasing two books in one year and The Cliffhanger eBook is exclusive to B&N Nook.

On September 19, Project Runway’s Tim Gunn has a new essay called A Word to the Wise Fans. In this Nook exclusive, Gunn talks about the lessons he has learned through working in fashion and beauty.
