Google sold out of its new Nexus 4 device yesterday, the same day it went on sale globally. According to TheNextWeb, all of the $299 8GB Android smartphones were snapped up in just 50 minutes. The Nexus 4 is still listed as “out of stock,” on Google’s site but the product page urges would-be customers to “check back soon.”

Yesterday, Google also bgan selling two Nexus tablets — the Nexus 7 tablet, a $199 16GB 7-inch Android tablet and the Nexus 10 tablet, a $399 16GB 10″ version.

Here is more about the launch from the Google blog: “There’s been so much interest for the Nexus lineup that we’ve sold out of some of our initial stock in a few countries! We are working hard to add more Nexus devices to Google Play in the coming weeks to keep up with the high demand. You can learn more about Nexus devices and stay updated atplay.google.com/nexus.”
