The Huffington Post Gets Into eBook Business

The Huffington Post is getting into the eBook business. The AOL-owned blog has its first two eBook titles coming out this month.

Today, the new imprint released Huff Post correspondent Arthur Delaney called A People’s History of the Great Recession. The book looks at how Americans are suffering due to the current recession. You can read an excerpt from the book at this link.

The second is a new book from San Francisco State University Political Science professor Aaron Belkin about gay rights in the military called How We Won. The book, which chronicles “Don’t Ask, don’t tell” legislation, comes out on September 20th.

The company’s founder Arianna Huffington released this statement about the new venture: “We’re excited to launch our e-books initiative, which allows us to deeply delve into interesting and timely topics and expand the distribution platform for authors. Arthur Delaney’s reporting has consistently put flesh and blood on the grim statistics of our ongoing economic crisis, but his e-book presents an opportunity to weave a larger narrative about the pain and suffering being felt by millions of Americans across the country whose stories are too often overlooked by the media.”
