Zinio Updates iPad App, Can Shop For Magazines & Furniture

Digital magazine store Zinio has released a 2.0 version of its iPad app. The new app includes in-app shopping capabilities, for not only digital magazines and newspapers, but e-commerce functionality, in which app users can buy clothes, accessories and furniture.

Talk about direct marketing. Users can click on ads in the digital magazines to purchase the items being advertised. Here is more from the press release: “Readers can now buy clothing, accessories, furniture and a ton of other things – from within their favorite magazines.”

The update also includes updated shopping tools for buying newspapers and magazines, updated speed and design, new bookmarking tools and enhanced library management tools.
