OK! Ousts Staffers To Make Room For New Recruits
January 16, 2009What's the newest hiring and firing trend in magazines? Axing a pub's current staff in order to recruit refugees from a higher-profile book. Page Six hears that a number of former People reporters found jobs at OK!, which laid off members of its staff to make room for the newcomers. A rep for the magazine claimed it was "more of a restaffing," with five firings and nine hires. WWD reports that OK! signed up Us Weekly talent, as well. Meanwhile, former OK! publisher Tom Morrissy is launching an events consultancy firm... Meredith Corp. pulled a similar restaffing ...
