Background: Associations Now was launched in October 2005, but its history goes back much farther, explains senior editor Mark Athitakis. When the American Society of Association Executives and the Center for Association Leadership combined in 2004, their individual magazines were shut down, and Associations Now was born. Though the magazine has had the usual reshuffling of editors and staffers, it has always been produced by ASAE and the Center.
