The futures of the music business and journalism
are colliding at South by Southwest. Spinner.com, the music part of AOL's Seed.com project, plans to cover all 2,000 bands taking part in the annual showcase and will pay writers $50 to produce a 1,000-world Q&A along with a profile of the group. Seed's programming director,
Saul Hansell, doesn't expect professional journalists to work for $.02 per word, but does think that people with an interest in music will jump at the opportunity to "get their byline in front of millions of people."...
