How To Pitch: Wired.com

Pitch tech culture stories and multimedia content to this news-driven site

- June 20, 2013
Unique monthly visitors: 17 million
Special issues: None

Background: "Wired is the first word on how ideas and innovation are changing the world," reads the mag's website. "Each month in the magazine and every day online, our editors deliver a glimpse into the future of business, culture, innovation and science." As lauded as the print pub is, Wired.com has its own share of accolades. In 2009, it scored both a Best Magazine Website honor by AdWeek and a Best News, Business & Finance Website distinction by MPA Digital, and was a 2011 finalist for the National Magazine Award for Digital Media General Excellence.

While the print and online editions share the same focus, the Web naturally allows the editors to go a step further as far as the breadth and frequency of coverage. Across the site's channels, readers might find a piece on autonomous cars in "Gear," a space photo of the day in "Science," the latest gaming news in "Entertainment" or a how-to on building cell phone jammers in "Design." Wired.com also publishes opinion columns and original video programs, like "The Window: How the Wired World Works."
