Background: Natasha Kern has worked in publishing for over 20 years and has personally sold more than 1,000 books. She began her career with Simon & Schuster and other New York publishers until opening her own agency in 1986. Today, she represents many bestselling authors of diverse backgrounds and ages from across the country.
"I do whatever it takes for a client to get not just a sale," says Kern, "but the best editor and publisher for their work." This may include anything from editorial feedback, help in developing the perfect proposal, or explaining the submission list and developing marketing plans. "This isn't hand-holding. It is using my professional expertise to further my clients' careers," explains Kern, who regards herself as a steward of ideas and stories that inspire faith, insight, action and joy. "If I love a book and want to work with a writer, she cannot find a better champion who will provide more attention and long-term support."
The How to Pitch series is worth its weight in gold. In just the first month I'd already benefited enough to consider the cost of joining well worth it.
