Glenn Beck is getting out of New York. The talk show host will leave Gotham after he departs Fox News, and vows to take on the liberal, late-night comedy cohort. He told an Albany audience that "I'm going to make sure that Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart don't occupy the space of comedy alone." The Daily Caller took a shot at Beck, claiming he stole its content. The whole situation could get mighty ugly...

TweetDeck gets a $50 million offer from Twitter, two months after a $25-$30 million deal with UberMedia almost closed. TechCrunch thinks the move is all about the "top-end users," and its analysis is probably correct. If Twitter does gain control of TweetDeck, they could kill the product or go after the professional segment of the market while reserving Tweetie for the rank and file Twitter users... The Daily loses managing editor Jim Gaines to Reuters, which also snags Dow Jones Newswires president Paul Ingrassia... The Village Voice promotes Francesca Stabile to Web editor.
