Special issues: Editors always have several special packages in development; past features include an education special and a look back at President Obama's first term.
Background: In today's 24/7 news cycle, when every celeb tweet or political misspeak becomes a headline, it can be hard to stay on top of it all. Enter Loop21, the site that keeps people in the know in the 21st century. Launched in 2009, Loop21 covers all the latest happenings from Capitol Hill to Hollywood -- and they want readers to get in on the action.
"We want to have a website that informs, but we also want to start conversations and have conversations," said Lisa Armstrong, Loop21's new editor-in-chief. "Rather than just presenting information to our audience, we want people to respond. So, whether it's through some form of social media or on the website, we wanted it to be like we're having a dialogue about issues that are important to our community."
