You've got your pick of sections to pitch in this bride and groom's guide to the hottest wedding and honeymoon locales.- October 20, 2015
The information in this article is current and accurate.
Frequency: Six issues a year
Special issue: The Worldwide Guide (January/February) is aimed at the nearly 50 percent of couples who get engaged between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day.
Background: If there ever was a magazine title that perfectly captured the book's purpose and function, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons would be it. Couples have been turning to this Bonnier-owned publication, which began as an offshoot of Islands magazine, to learn everything they need to know about planning their on-location wedding or dream honeymoon. The mag, whose original title was Islands Weddings & Honeymoons, released the premier issue under its current name in 2005.
"We describe ourselves as the travel magazine for brides and grooms," says editor in chief Erika Hueneke. "We differentiate ourselves from other wedding publications by focusing our content 100 percent on destination weddings and honeymoons." The editors define a destination wedding as an event that occurs at least 200 miles or a two-hour drive from where the couple lives. The publication also addresses the groom a bit more than other wedding magazines (men make up about 12 percent of the audience), and it doesn't cover hometown weddings at all.
