Jess Cagle, managing editor at Entertainment Weekly, has a new gig as managing editor of People, the top spot at Time Inc.'s most profitable magazine. He'll remain at EW as editorial director, a new role at the title. "Jess's reputation for successful collaboration and strong leadership, coupled with his unmatched access and influence in the celebrity world will enormously benefit both PEOPLE and EW," wrote president of the style and entertainment group David Geithner and chief content officer Norm Pearlstine in a memo. Cagle replaces Larry Hackett, who says he'll "take a break and figure out where to go next." Also out is Mark Golin, who was group editor of the style and entertainment group. Hackett and Golin both spent over a decade at the company. More people are expected to be on their way out...
Eric Eldon leaves his position as co-editor of TechCrunch. "For me, though, it's time to try something pretty different.
