Major changes at Time, Inc. According to a memo from Joe Ripp, Time Inc.’s CEO, the company is streamlining its structure by eliminating the brand clusters and, therefore, cutting jobs -- reportedly 500 of them. David Geithner, a 20-year veteran, is now out of a job, as is CEO of American Express Publishing  Ed Kelly. With that being said, Evelyn Webster and Todd Larsen will be taking on larger roles...

Re/code hires a host of new talent for its rapidly growing team. The appointment of Ken Li as managing editor is now official. According to the post announcing everything, he "has already made himself invaluable in leading our news coverage, bringing out the best in our reporters." Additionally, Amy Schatz comes on as a Washington D.C.-based tech policy issue writer. She had been at The Wall Street Journal. James Temple leaves the San Francisco Chronicle, with Amy Keyishian taking a gig as copy editor and Nellie Bowles handling the tech culture trends beat. Jon Graves might be the most important hire, however; he's the new chief revenue officer...

Is the Dr. Oz magazine in trouble before it even launches? Design director Cass Spencer and photo director Jenny Sargent are leaving, meaning the five-person design team now numbers three. Hearst, which is putting out the joint venture with the good doctor, was quick to point out how launches have frequent turnover... ABC News recruits Bill Kristol as a contributor. The Weekly Standard editor and publisher will appear on The Week with host George Stephanopoulos as well as other programs. Kristol had been a frequent guest on Fox News in the past, but that run ended after he got into an argument with Roger Ailes. Elsewhere, the network also recruits Mara Schiavocampo as a New York-based correspondent. She had been at NBC News, working as anchor at Early Today and serving as a correspondent... British Vogue taps Kate Moss as a contributor. The only question is why it took so long...

Cathy Horyn leaves her job as fashion critic at The New York Times. She plans to spend more time with her partner, Art Ortenberg, who is struggling with health issues. "Cathy will be sorely missed by all of us in Styles and by the paper as a whole... She will continue to work on a project that is dear to her heart: A book... that chronicles how The New York Times has covered fashion from the 1850s to the first decades of the 21st century," executive editor Jill Abramson and styles editor Stuart Emmrich announced in a memo. The Times also loses Tracy Quitasol, who ran The Idea Lab for the past two years... The National hires Mohammed Al Otaiba as editor-in-chief. Hassan Fattah resigned in September... John Carney jumps from CNBC to The Wall Street Journal's Heard on the Street section...

Gawker loses Cord Jefferson, who will write for LeBron James' new Starz TV show. (That's an awesome line on the resume.) The site replenishes with Daily Dot editor Jay Hathaway, who will work from the West Coast but work East Coast hours... David Kaplan leaves paidContent where he had been media reporter for AdExchanger. He'll launch a new "independent news site" called GeoMarketing. Audrey Spector joins as his reporter... And there are changes at the New York Observer, The Week, and more...
