Wow. Wow. Wow. Jill Abramson is out as executive editor of The New York Times, with managing editor Dean Baquet replacing her. Publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. called it "an issue with management in the newsroom," but the fallout was, and continues to be, ugly. Baquet, with whom Abramson clashed, was reportedly angered by her plan to install The Guardian U.S. editor Janine Gibson as co-managing editor alongside him. Abramson also found out that her pay and benefits package was not equal to that of her predecessor Bill Keller, which Times brass initially explained was a seniority issue, but backed down from that statement in an awkward way. (She was right, by the way.) More will surely come out in the coming weeks. The best, saddest, truest line about l'affaire du Abramson comes from BuzzFeed's Kate Aurthur: "She got fired with less dignity than Judith Miller, who practically started the Iraq war."...

The Wall Street Journal moves around a few editors, shifting Glenn Hall to U.S. editor to take over for Jennifer Forsyth, who is the new deputy investigations editor. Hall had been editor of MarketWatch, a job he started in September. Jeremy Olshan replaces him there, while Tim Layer joins Hall's team as deputy U.S. editor... There's another paper in crisis, as Le Monde director Natalie Nougayrède resigns after seven top editors left in recent weeks citing her management style... The Financial Times hires Gillian Tett as U.S. managing editor. Martin Dickson is retiring after 37 years...

Jill Herzig takes over Dr. Oz's The Good Life, as Hearst bumps up the frequency of the recent launch to 10 times a year. Launch editor Alison Brower is off to The Hollywood Reporter, where she'll be deputy editorial director. Redbook executive editor Meredith Rollins will handle the top duties while Hearst executives find a replacement for Herzig... Elle recruits Rebecca Traister and Amanda Fortini as contributing editors, where they will help editor-in-chief Robbie Myers cover the "feminist reawakening."... Diane Silberstein is Opera News' new publisher. She previously worked the same job at Elle, The New Yorker and Playboy, among others...

Jenny Wall joins Hulu as SVP and head of marketing. That's a big deal because the company's CEO Mike Hopkins poached her from rival Netflix, where she had been VP of marketing... CNBC executive Susan Krakower leaves for SkyBridge Capital, where she'll relaunch Wall Street Week. She helped bring Fast Money and Mad Money to air... ABC News bumps up Shushannah Walshe from political reporter to deputy political director... MGM is losing chief strategic officer Ken Schapiro...

Quartz hires former Business Insider senior editor Dan Frommer as technology editor and recruits Annalisa Merelli as a reporter for the Ideas team. Additionally, Matt Phillips gets a promotion to markets and finance editor... Krystle Kopacz takes a job as COO of National Journal Group. She had been overseeing the launch of Defense One...
