It's a "bloodbath" at the Orange County Register, as more than 50 staffers ask for buyouts. This comes in response to owner Aaron Kushner instituting mandatory furloughs just a few months after laying off 30 staffers in January. "He's lost the newsroom," one long-time staffer tells the OC Weekly, which has a vested interest in the misfortune of the OC Register. "No one has any faith in him at all. People want to get the hell out while they can." Quartz, the Atlantic Media business site, launches an India operation, headed by former The Economic Times reporter Sruthijith KK.
