How To Pitch: The Latin Kitchen

This Latin food-and-drink destination seeks pitches that appeal to acculturated Hispanics.

- March 26, 2015
The information in this article is current and accurate.

Monthly unique visitors: 180,000
Special features: The website's "Entertaining & How-To" and "Travel" sections often feature content pegged to special or timely events, such as the World Cup or Olympics, food and wine festivals, and holidays.

Background: Launched in 2012, The Latin Kitchen filled a significant void in the online food space by focusing on Latin cuisine and its rich history. An English-language site, The Latin Kitchen is popular among acculturated Latinos who remain connected to and invested in their Latin roots, but all content is intended to appeal to non-Latinos as well. The idea, says founding editor Marie Elena Martinez, is that the site serve as both inspiration and a resource for both the home cook who wants to stay connected to Latin cooking and the one who is just discovering the cuisine and the traditions and personalities surrounding it. Martinez left the publication at the end of 2014 to pursue new projects; however, the structure and vision of the site remain unchanged.
