Gawker Media continues to grow up. In a recent meeting, editorial director Joel Johnson told editors that he wanted to hit 100 million unique visitors a month across the company's slate of eight core titles, and expects to ramp up staffing. "If things go right, we could double our editorial staff by the end of 2015," he said. "What we’re saying now is: don’t worry about your editorial budget, find the right people and bring those people in, and we’ll make a place for them." Nick Denton's flagship site has added staff writers Allie Jones, Aleksander Chan and Andy Cush since the April meeting and it would seem that many more are on the way...

Yahoo makes another big score, recruiting Michael Isikoff as chief investigative correspondent. He's tracked down stories from the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky debacle to the Penn State sex abuse scandal. Isikoff had most recently been at NBC News, but believes that "digital is the future of the news business," so he said goodbye, taking some of Marissa Mayer's endless pile of cash to do so... David Storey moves to the foreign policy team at Reuters, with Jim Loney taking his spot as head of the breaking news team...
Emily Gould leaves 29th Street Publishing, the digital publishing venture where she had been editorial director since July. No one is talking about her departure, although her job there was a key plot point of a recent New York Times Sunday Styles section profile on the former Gawker editor. Her first novel debuts next week... David Brock relaunches the American Independent Institute, with Sam Skolnik as director. Brock, who also founded Media Matters for America, will serve as the organization's president... And there are changes at Zimbio, Moroch Partners and more...
