David Plotz leaves Slate after six years, which is how long his predecessors Michael Kinsley and Jacob Weisberg lasted as well. During his tenure, Slate's traffic jumped to 30 million uniques a month. Plotz will stay on as editor-at-large, while Julia Turner, his deputy, assumes the top spot. "Readers shouldn’t notice much at first," she told The New York Times. "David and I have worked so closely together, so harmoniously and for so long, that the magazine as it is reflects much of my thinking." John Swansburg replaces Turner as deputy editor, while Josh Levin is the new Washington, D.C., bureau chief and executive editor...

New York loses executive editor John Homans, who moves to Bloomberg Media, where he'll oversee the new politics "franchise" headed by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin. "I'm not sure it's possible to enumerate John's contributions to this magazine, now and for his entire tenure here, working under different owners and with different editors," New York editor Adam Moss wrote in a memo announcing the news. April 1 would have been Homans' 20th anniversary at the publication. Additionally, David Perla joins Bloomberg BNA Legal as president... Amina Akhtar moves to theFashionSpot as editorial director. She had been overseeing the tablet edition of Vogue and also recently served as executive editor of

Arthur Gregg Sulzberger lands a new gig, as senior editor for strategy at The New York Times. He is both the son of publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and the lead writer of the innovation report that came out earlier this year... Chris Plante will teach an NYU class devoted to journalism about games. He's currently an editor-at-large with Polygon, the Vox Media property focused on video games... Could The View be looking to target S.E. Cupp as a co-host to join Rosie O'Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg? That's the rumor, although it appears that Meghan McCain still has the inside track on holding down the program's token conservative spot... Jenny McCarthy, who is exiting The View, scores a gig as a radio host on SiriusXM, heading a program called Dirty, Sexy, Funny with Jenny McCarthy...

Alisyn Camerota joins CNN as an anchor. She comes to the network after 16 years at Fox News, most recently as co-host of America’s News Headquarters. Camerota will contribute to all programs at CNN, with a permanent slot announced in the coming months... Meanwhile, Reza Aslan, author of Zealot, could also be joining CNN. He's sold a show to the network but is waiting to announce the details... Dana Walden and Gary Newman will be in charge of Fox Broadcasting Co... Howie Schwab is off to Sports Jeopardy, which is apparently a thing... Sam Champion experiences some stormy weather, forced to endure a number of production cuts at his Weather Channel morning show... And there are changes at Say Media, The Atlantic and more...
