Delve into D.C. matters with profiles and narrative features
November 8, 2012
The information in this article is current and accurate.
Special issues: None, but the mag runs yearly cover stories: "Best Restaurants" (January), "Best of Washington" (July), "Cheap Eats" (June).
Background: According to its website, this magazine in the nation's capitol has been "the region's top source of information for dining, shopping, entertainment and personalities" for over four decades. The publication's coverage spans the entire Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, including Maryland, D.C., and Virginia, and also extends beyond the beltway. "Nearly 50 percent of our readers are from Northern Virginia," said senior managing editor Bill O'Sullivan. Readers are highly educated and each article relates to the D.C. area in some way, whether it's a person, place or event.
The How to Pitch series is worth its weight in gold. In just the first month I'd already benefited enough to consider the cost of joining well worth it.
