The changing of the guard atop The Washington Post is complete. Publisher Katharine Weymouth moved faster than expected in naming former Wall Street Journal managing editor Marcus Brauchli as Len Downie's successor as executive editor. He's only the paper's third top editor since 1968, when the legendary Ben Bradlee took over. Weymouth, 42, is a fourth generation Graham family member running the paper, while Brauchli is the first outsider to edit it since her great-grandfather bought it out of bankruptcy in 1933.
