Special issues: Social Calendar (September) and the Front Desk guidebook
Background: With 30 books across 12 U.S. cities, Modern Luxury is the premier publisher of upscale lifestyle magazines. And no collection of luxury publications would be complete without an ode to the ritziest borough of the city that never sleeps: Manhattan.
Launched in the thick of the economic crisis of 2008, Manhattan, like so many other magazines, has taken a few hits, but Cristina Cuomo, the pub's brand-new EIC, believes the future is bright. "I think [Manhattan] has struggled to find its readership, but it's now starting to hit its stride with the affluent New Yorker who has a wide range of interests," she said.
Unlike other city magazines, Manhattan is more like a national book with local flavor, as some of the features and all of the fashion content are repurposed for each of Modern Luxury's publications. Other than that, all of Manhattan's coverage is specific to New York City, highlighting the best in restaurants, nightlife, Broadway and everything in between.
