Newspaper employees are being forced to make serious concessions to save their livelihood: In San Francisco, members of the California Media Workers Guild will vote on Thursday to decide whether to agree to terms that could save the money-hemorrhaging San Francisco Chronicle. Just two weeks ago, parent company Hearst said the paper could be shut down within "weeks" if something was not done to curb the dollar loss.
