Making the transition from print to blogs requires mastering a new style of communication and approaching your work with an updated mindset.
Many successful bloggers took their traditional habits and remade them to fit the Web. Take Politico's Ben Smith, for instance: He built on habits honed during his days at The Wall Street Journal and New York Sun to refine his approach to blogging.
So did Jay Rosen, a media critic whose work has appeared in The New York Times and The Washington Post, and who currently blogs at PressThink.org. "The things that are similar are tiny," said Rosen, "and the things that are different are huge."
