Time Inc., not surprisingly, is in chaos after the ouster of Jack Griffin. The New York Post wants to make an issue out of John Huey's appearance at the top of the company's corporate website, but Time Inc.'s PR staff says that was just a mistake. Huey is head of editorial but was thought to be on his way out after Griffin hired Martha Nelson as Huey's deputy. What's going on now is anyone's guess, but the forced resignation will cost Time Inc. at least $5 million...
The New York Times reorganizes -- a "reinvention" in Bill Keller's parlance -- the Week in Review section. Op-Ed editor Trish Hall will head the new entity... The Los Angeles Times loses pop music critic Ann Powers to NPR. She'll continue to contribute to the paper... Roy Johnson is out as editor-in-chief of Men's Fitness. He's been in the position since May 2007 and will return to consulting for the time being... Spin Media LLC promotes Ian Robinson to design director. He had been art director there...
Engadget suffers a couple losses as editor Paul J. Miller leaves along with Ross Miller. The "AOL Way" had something to do with the departures. They had both been at AOL for at least five years...
