Number of agents: TwoBackground: After a stint teaching chemistry in Santa Fe, principal agent James Fitzgerald moved to New York where his first job was at The New York Times in the art and production areas. He then shifted over to books, landing first at Arno Press and following with stints at Times Books, Dial Press, Dolphin Books, and later St. Martin's where he acquired and edited titles like Generation X, England's Dreaming and Frank's World. He formed his own agency in 2003 and has represented such authors as Sonny Barger of the Hell's Angels, Kanye West, David Carradine, Tony Hendra and Ed Sanders.
