Former Teen Vogue beauty director Kara Jesella is back in magazines after taking time off to co-write the definitive history of the late, great Sassy with Marisa Meltzer, How Sassy Changed My Life: A Love Letter to the Greatest Teen Magazine of All Time. The loftiness of her subtitle notwithstanding, Sassy did go on to mold at least four future magazine editors: Jane Pratt (Jane, of course), Christina Kelly (YM and ElleGirl), Kim France (Lucky) and Atoosa Rubenstein (CosmoGirl! and Seventeen). But Jesella won't be working with any of them—she's landed at The New York Times ...
