In an interesting maneuver at the top of InStyle's masthead, People Group editorial director Martha Nelson has installed Eilidh MacAskill as deputy managing editor. MacAskill, who is a British import (she's the former editor of Happy in the U.K.), will manage "day-to-day operation of the magazine and will oversee our coverage of beauty, fashion, and lifestyle," according to the accompanying memo. Keith Kellyspeculates that her hiring is "a bloodless coup at the top," while managing editor Charla Lawhon insisted otherwise.
